Client : CGI Federal
The design concept for this project takes inspiration from CGI Federal’s technology-driven perspective, seamlessly integrating dynamic elements with natural materials. In the elevator lobby and reception area, wooden acoustical slats are thoughtfully placed to create movement and to support CGI Federal’s company branding. Across the three floors, various ceiling designs enhance the activities taking place below. Wooden ceilings are used in public areas, acoustic baffles in collaborative spaces and conference rooms, and open ceilings in main circulation areas. Individual workspaces and collaboration areas are located around the perimeter of the office, taking advantage of the panoramic views of downtown Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. Other references to local landmarks are located throughout the three floors using unique room names, wall graphics, and art. The design team collaborated with client representatives to provide spaces that enhance and support their work dynamics. Our design strategy emphasized flexible, functional spaces that accommodate the varied work styles and tasks that the team engages in.
